Reaching comprehension is found to be a complex cognitive skill in language education. There are various problems in teaching reading comprehension, and there have been a lot of strategies adopted by them to overcome all those problems. In the current scenario also the reading specialists and teachers have been adopting newer and innovative strategies to teach reading comprehension skill to the learners successfully. This paper discusses the current strategies— explicit instruction, bringing background knowledge, vocabulary enriched reading, reading through various methodologies, and technology assisted reading comprehension adopted by the language specialists and teachers to teach reading comprehension, nowadays.
