Vocabulary learning is a complex task, and it is a lifelong process. Language users should have a large store house of vocabulary in order to perform well both in academic and non academic contexts. Hence, in order to help learners develop their vocabulary knowledge, attempt should be made from the beginning of their formal education, to make vocabulary instruction rich, deep and extended. But it is found that, learners often are not able to cope with the academic and professional demands and restrain themselves from communicating because they do not have adequate vocabulary in their repertoire. As language users, our demand for word is unending, and language teachers should develop effective teaching strategies that will help learners to learn, retain, and use words in communicational contexts in a better way. The present paper, proposed to focus on issues like activating learners conceptual knowledge in their mother tongue and use of personalization technique for fostering the vocabulary learning ability of learners. Keywords: vocabulary development, concepts, personalization technique, teaching strategies, affective factors, vocabulary enriching tasks etc.
