Today, researchers hunt for the magic bullet that enables teachers to assess student needs and make relevant connections in order to better motivate and instruct students within their classrooms. However, the teacher effectiveness literature tends to focus narrowly on cognitive outcomes, with insufficient attention placed upon broader domains associated with student morale and social well-being, and the establishment of positive relationships with colleagues and parents. . The recognition and management of emotional intelligence (EI) by classroom teachers may be the edge necessary to make effective and relevant connections with students of varying backgrounds. The study examines the level of Emotional Intelligence among teachers working in the private Engineering Colleges in and around Visakhapatnam and its impact on effective teaching. Stratified random sampling was chosen for study Sample of 220 teachers. Result indicated that the private Engineering college teachers of Visakhapatnam have fairly high level of Emotional Intelligence which is definitely helping in effective teaching.oday, researchers hunt for the magic bullet that enables teachers to assess student needs and make relevant connections in order to better motivate and instruct students within their classrooms.
