Books impact our lives and thoughts so powerfully that to make us see in the genesis of the art form, the genesis of Creation and the marvel that is the universe. People all over the world have recognized English as the global language and have learnt to speak and write in English without an understanding of its cultural character that breathes life into it. Literature which forms the Centre of Humanities deals with basic values such as justice, compassion, civilized conduct, human power of endurance and human endeavor to realize its potential and helps us experience love, beauty, majesty and truth. We can see the parallel between the Iliad and our own epics- the Ramanayana and the Mahabharata. The starting point of war is in the abduction of Sita in the Ramayana. A man remembers God in his days of adversity and not in his days of prosperity, the humbling of Job is an experience that we receive as we read the 18th Book of the Old Testament.
