The research paper entitled “MANIFESTATION OF AMERICAN DREAMS” with reference to Arthur miller, stagnation and dejection that America was transient during the time of Arthur miller is reflected in the play. The opening deals with a little introduction to American literature, followed by a short explanation of American dramas and different literary movements that emerged throughout that period. Secondly it deals with Arthur miller and his contemporary writers and also their input to different aspects of drama. Thirdly it with the analysis of “Death of a Salesman”, its plot, characters and particularly Willy Loman his dreams of becoming a wealthy man, his struggles to become a well know salesman. This paper also explains about the similarities between the major characters Willy Loman and Joe Keller. The end concludes by summing up about working class and their dreams. Unemployment and under – employment are shown to be widespread in miller’s America. Apart from the dreams of the common man miller also presents the unsavory aspects of the American society of his time through the dramas “Death of a Salesman” and “All My Sons”.
