Outcast: Four Stories is one of the impressive collections of short stories written by Mahasweta Devi. This story explains the status of woman in the society, particularly the marginalized women’s position. Mahasweta Devi’s short stories speak about the unspeakable truth of women’s sufferings or tribulation and her writings bring them to life and makes woman to step out from the marginalized society. Marginalization seems to refer the particular group in the society is pushed to live in the border. They are not allowed to involve with the high class people in the society. Marginalized women or the tribe don’t have any proper identity in the society. The sufferings of the marginalized women have been avoided and not yet considered it as wrong.
