The present topic introduces quest in the works of Naïm Kattan. Particularly, the article takes into consideration the author’s biography and the theme of love in the novel of L’anniversaire. In this novel whose title means ‘The Birthday’, after his seventieth birthday celebration, the narrator sends a letter each to eleven special people who have been close to him since his early years. In these letters, the narrator reminisces about good memories of his life and thanks all who attended the celebration. Some of the letters are dedicated to friends, girlfriend, ex-lover, Wife, daughter and Colleagues. The present article focuses on elaborating three different types of love like passionate, compassionate and intimate love.
