Write My Son, Write Text and Interpretation: An Exercise in Close Reading is a critique of K. V. Dominic’s title sequence from the anthology Write My Son, Write, by K.V. Dominic, a renowned writer from Kerala. It consists of Dominic’s views on the world and his philosophies. Though the book is slender, it is enriched with deeper meaning. Dr. Ramesh Chandra Mukhopadhyaya has analysed the anthology and raises a few questions which may trigger the interest of the readers. The writer has analysed the poem in parts and has given the explication at the end of each part. This innovative method is quite new to the readers as it has the original text with interpretation. Readers could probably enjoy reading the verses and at the same time they can get the implied meaning through the explanation given by the writer. The interpretation by the writer takes the poem to various levels as he unravels the meaning layer by layer. The book sheds light on the different methods of approaching a text. Altogether this book can be of great help to the literature students and young researchers to know more about crticising poems. Keywords: Dependent Origination, Eco critic, Logo centric, Linguistics, String theory, Symbolic.
