what is Symbolism? Symbolism is the practice of representing things by symbols. A symbol works in association or suggestion “cross is refers in Jesus and his suffering, “white” associated with purity and “dove” with peace and “hawk” with cruelty and war. Tagore’s contemporary authors are , The Irish poet Yeats commented: “The play conveys and emotion of gentleness and peace.” An Anthology, Krishnan Dutta and Robinson wrote that W. B Yeats called the post office is a “Master piece.” Desai observes that structurally, the post office is extremely simple. Rabindranath Tagore is an Indian writer and also a painter and a composer. His works mainly wrote in Bengali, the even, though his poems and plays are translated in English. The Post office is the most famous play of Tagore. The play is set in the nineteenth century rural Bengal. His play focuses on foreshadowing, allusion, historical context, the Hindu religion, death as a release.
