This paper, however, aims to explain a few of the roles played by poetry in improving English language learning such as the ability to interpret, understanding culture, knowing the linguistic aspects, acquiring vocabulary, and fostering creativity . Key Words: learner-centered approach, communicative approach, denotations and connotations
