Tanjore Quartet were the front rankers in the systematisation of the present day Bharatanatyam. For the Bharatanatyam repertoire (Alarippu, Jatiswaram, Sabdam, Varnam, Padam, Javali and Tillana) they composed many number of items like. For Adavus the brothers produced a precise Sollukattu (vocabulary). They gave their best towards the enrichment of Bharatanatyam. Even more amazing was the fact that they were not totally orthodox, but were bold enough to experiment and innovate. In fact, one of the brothers, Vadivelu, even chose to use the western musical instrument, Violin, for his dance concerts. Therefore, this dance form, which developed by the tanjore Quartete signifying the enrichment of our priceless values and principles, should flourish more and reach to one and all, attaining great height and lead a path to success.
