Communication is the key to success in all spheres of life, be it personal or professional. Desired outcomes are impossible to achieve without effective communication. An important part of communication is the non verbal aspect of it. It has been established that Non Verbal Communication (NVC) has a larger bearing on effective communication of a message, than the actual spoken words. In the workplace the importance NVC increases significantly. It is thus important for all professionals not only to be aware of the different aspects of NVC, but also to master them. This paper will discuss the various aspects of non-verbal communication with special focus on its application at the work place.
