Whether the person belongs to any country or any region but he tries to learn the other language through his mother tongue. A person always remains a student and wants to learn new things .But he feels difficulty in such case mother tongue fulfills his aim. In this way we can’t ignore the importance of the role of mother tongue .Now the question arises before us how it works .As we know the aim of this seminar is to present different ideas on different topics and the role of mother tongue in ESL is one in which English language is considered as a secondary language. Yes, it is true English is an international and official language. If he wants to get success in his life, it becomes compulsory on his part to learn it and go through it because English is such a language which is spoken everywhere, in each country. If we want to read any literature or go to other places and we know English language, we can easily enjoy the other literature, other culture and other people. So, it is also an essential in our life. But how we learn it if it is not our mother tongue. It is only our mother tongue that makes less difficulty in learning and understanding of different language and causes a growth in better understanding, to facilitate and to improve teaching/learning situations. Thus mother tongue is an escapable. So; we regard our mother tongue on primary level and English on secondary level.
