Every society is inflicted with unequal power relations between men and women. Some societies are completely patriarchal while others are partially or minimally patriarchal. In either case, women are oppressed and kept at a level lower than men. Almost in all spheres of life one could see this. There are various facets to this but only few things are highlighted. For example, violence against women, be it domestic or at a work place. This case is often projected as punishable and condemnable. Of course it is, but there are other unseen and subtler issues working against women and this escapes our eyes. In public spheres, they are under-represented and at the domestic front, for things like, decision making and handling major responsibilities, they are least trusted. Key Words: Anti - detective Cinema, Moral ambiguity, Zeitgeist, Amoral representations, debunking of canonical representations.
